Local couple, Jenna Hamilton and Jason Blunden have bought their own brand new three bedroom townhouse at Linden Homes’ Boslowen development in Camborne, thanks to the Help to Buy scheme.
Jenna, 24, and Jason, 33 were desperate to reach the important milestone of buying their own home. Jenna explained how they managed to make their dream become a reality: “We really wanted our own home but didn’t think we could afford it. We were amazed when Neil Chapman, the sales executive, showed us the choice of homes available and then explained the schemes they have to help people move.
“Help to Buy is fantastic! When it was first mentioned to us, we were worried it would be confusing and there would be a lot of paperwork involved but it wasn’t like that at all. New Homes Mortgage Helpline sorted a lot of the forms for us and took us through everything step by step, while Neil kept us up-to-date and reassured us throughout the whole process.
“We couldn’t have moved without Help to Buy and we want to spread the love and let others know about it. I’d heard about the scheme in the press but it wasn’t until Neil sat us down and took us through it that we realised it really could enable us to achieve our dream of owning our first home together. We’re not paying off someone else’s mortgage now and that just feels good!
“Being able to buy new was a real bonus for us. Not only did we not want the stress of having to live in an older property while we updated it, but we didn’t have the money to do that either. It’s reassuring to know that the house side of things is taken care of and we’re going to enjoy having the time and space to relax in the garden this summer.”
Jenna added: “We’re really pleased with our gorgeous home and immediately fell in love with the brick pattern on the outside of the house – it’s stunning, contemporary and means it really stands out from the others. We also have great views over Carn Brea Hill.
“We can’t speak more highly of Linden Homes and the sales team, who were amazing at putting our minds at rest and answering all the hundreds of questions we had! The quality of the build is fantastic and we are so happy with our move, it’s been the best decision we’ve ever made.”
