Why move to a new build home in Salisbury?

From beautiful scenery and historic sites to shopping and a variety of regular events, there's plenty to keep the whole family happy in Salisbury.

Activities

Salisbury Cathedral is the city's iconic landmark, attracting visitors for centuries. Originally founded in 1220, the cathedral houses the Magna Carta and remains an impressive place of worship. Its spires soar above the city, overlooking Harnham Water Meadows – the beautiful 84-acre nature reserve that dates to the 17th century.

Attractions located within the historic Cathedral Close include The Wardrobe Military Museum and Salisbury Museum, which includes a series of exhibitions including finds from Stonehenge. Mompesson House is also nearby. Built in 1701, this beautiful building featured in the 1995 film adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.

Salisbury is also home to a fantastic range of shops. Take your pick from independent boutiques at The Maltings on the riverside, as well as high street stores at The Cross Keys Arcade and Old George Mall. You can also browse the stalls at the twice-weekly Charter Market, which is held on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Fans of the arts can head to one of the theatres and cinemas in the city. Catch a performance at Salisbury Playhouse or the Studio Theatre, or enjoy newly released films shown at the Everyman.

Education

There are a range of schools rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, providing excellent educational opportunities for those with young families in Salisbury.

Located on the outskirts of the city centre, Wiltshire College's Salisbury campus offers vocational and creative courses, including entry-level accreditations and degrees. Additionally, just 29 miles away lies The University of Southampton.

Salisbury is well-connected, with the A36 linking to the M27, providing access in 45 minutes to Southampton to the southeast. The A354 provides links to Dorchester in an hour and the M3 takes you into central London in less than two and a half hours.
