Home to the original Cheddar cheese, stunning historic architecture and Arthurian legends, Somerset truly is the ‘Jewel of the South West’. The town of Cheddar itself though is just one of many truly beautiful and historic towns in this splendid county.

Despite its size, Somerset has a relatively small population, making it an ideal place to call home for those seeking to enjoy rural surroundings and natural landscapes in their spare time. Commuting for work in this area can also mean taking in some wonderful views, especially if it’s anywhere near Exmoor National Park. This amazing area of protected land occupies nearly 270 square miles and hugs the north coast of Somerset.
Take a hike to the summit of Glastonbury Tor for breathtaking views across the Avalon Moors and wetlands, or try to spot the families of otters and red deer living in one of the 72 nature reserves.

Commuters will benefit from great connections to both Bristol and London, the latter less than an hour and a half’s train journey from Bristol Parkway. Most train services in Somerset are operated by Great Western Railway, providing a fast, congestion-free link between station towns across the county and direct routes to a range of locations throughout the UK. Bristol Airport is 45 minutes’ drive away via the A368 and offers connections throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
