Students from Padgate Academy gained real-life insight into careers in housebuilding at Linden Homes’ Radley Woods at Peel Hall Garden Village development.
The visit formed part of Linden Homes’ involvement in the Future Ready programme from The Cheshire and Warrington Pledge Partnership. It offered pupils the chance to step inside Radley Woods’ newly opened show homes and sales centre, and meet the team who shared insight into their own career journeys and experience in new-build homes.
Aiming to give young people the skills for success, the Future Ready programme connects them with local employers for work experience and careers guidance. Linden Homes has also supported the programme by facilitating mock assessment days for nearly 1000 local teenagers, and offering students the chance to try bricklaying at Radley Woods.
Jenny Leigh, Leader of Careers and Vocational Education at Padgate Academy, commented: “The students and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Radley Woods at Peel Hall Garden Village last week. The opportunity to tour the site and gain insight into the wide range of roles involved - from administrative functions to construction - was incredibly valuable for our learners.
“Exploring the show homes was a particular highlight, and the students loved engaging in discussions and making predictions about property prices. The team was exceptional throughout the visit: welcoming, knowledgeable, and generous with their time, encouraging students to ask questions and learn as much as possible. We are very grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with Vistry and working together again in the future.”
Radley Woods is the first phase of the major Peel Hall Garden Village development, which is poised to bring 1,200 high-quality, energy-efficient homes to Warrington in the coming years. A collection of four-bedroom homes is now available for reservation, with prices starting at £360,000.
