There will soon be an opportunity to buy a beautiful new home in the lovely village of Charlton Marshall in north Dorset. The collection of homes, which is being built by Linden Homes in what was known as Walker’s Field, will be on the western edge of the village next to the old Somerset and Dorset railway line – which is now a trailway for walkers and cyclists.
The homes being built at ‘The Old Orchard at Charlton Marshall’ will include three bungalows, each of which will have its own garden; there will also be a two bedroom apartment and a selection of two, three and four bedroom houses.
All the homes will be built in a traditional style – with many of them being arranged in a terrace formation. And although traditional in the way they look, these homes will also include some very contemporary features such as bi fold and patio doors. Some of them will have their own garage.
Every Linden home is built to the company’s characteristic and award winning high specification: All the kitchens and bathrooms are fully fitted and each energy efficient home will be designed and finished to the high standard associated with all award winning Linden Homes.
(Linden Homes was named house builder of the Year at The Ideal Home Show Blue Ribbon Awards this year and large house builder of the year at last year’s Housebuilder Awards.)
Work will begin on The Orchard at Charlton Marshall later this year and it is hoped that the first residents will be able to move in mid 2015.
Charlton Marshall itself is not only a beautiful village, but it is also well located: It is two miles from the market town of Blandford Forum and lies on the A350 which links Poole with the M4.
Tina Chalk is the marketing manager of Linden Homes Southern:
“This is an unusual development – it’s rare to have three bungalows with their own gardens, for example. The location is exceptional too: This is a lovely, lively Dorset village that is well connected to nearby towns and cities such as Blandford Forum, Salisbury, Dorchester and Poole.
“These homes will offer rural living without a feeling of isolation: We are expecting demand to be high for these homes and we recommend that, if you are thinking of buying a new home, you should register that interest with us as soon as possible so we can keep you up to date on the construction process and let you know when each of the homes are released.
“It’s important to act quickly so you don’t miss out. If you’re registered with us you will receive an invitation to our priority launch too.”
