The M1 runs straight through the county providing northbound access to Leeds and southbound links to London. Milton Keynes and Coventry can both be reached in less than 40 minutes from Northampton by car. Slightly further afield, Leicester and Luton are less than an hour away via the A6 and Cambridge can be accessed via the A14 (90 minutes).

Northamptonshire also benefits from regular rail services to all over the country. If you need to commute to the City either for work or leisure, West Midlands Trains provide services to London Euston in less than an hour. Milton Keynes Central Station is just 20 minutes’ journey and Birmingham New Street can be reached in just over an hour on the train.

Due to its central location, air travellers will find several national airports easily accessible to them. Birmingham Airport is just an hour’s drive via the A45 and provides flights to many global destinations including the US, Asia, Australia and Africa. Closer still is Coventry Airport which is just 40 minutes’ drive from Northampton. The M1 also provides routes to several leading London airports; London Luton (1 hour), London Heathrow (1 hour 30 minutes), and London Stansted (1 hour 45 minutes).
