Existing homeowners could be missing out on owning a brand-new home, according to award-winning Linden Homes. Latest figures from the government have revealed that the majority of new homes purchased using Help to Buy have been to first time buyers (97,578) representing 81 per cent of total sales in the UK since the scheme started in 2013.
With many existing homeowners potentially missing out on owning a brand-new home, Linden Homes is raising awareness of the buying assistance scheme to help purchasers understand the benefits. What’s more, the housebuilder is offering additional incentives to provide purchasers with an all-inclusive mover’s package that could save them thousands.
Jo Dixon, Marketing Manager at Linden Homes South, explains: “Help to Buy is often perceived as a scheme for first-time buyers, but it is in fact also available to people who already own a home. The criteria is the same, in that it can only be used to purchase a new build home with a value of up to £600,000, but it means so many more people who would like a bigger property but are struggling to gather a deposit, can actually make the move they long for.
“We have a number of homes at Bartons Rise in Havant that fall within the Help to Buy threshold. All you need is a five per cent deposit in order to secure a 20 per cent government equity loan to get moving.
“We hope that by raising awareness of the Help to Buy scheme with current home owners, more will realise they can move, which in turn may help more first-time buyers to get on the property ladder as a wider variety of property types open up to them.”
Bartons Rise, with three, four and five-bedroom homes, offers the best of modern living in a location that offers excellent connections to town and country. For enjoying the great outdoors, Havant provides endless opportunities from forest, woodland and coastal walks, to nature reserves and country parks, as well as water sports traditionally associated with the area.
A lively, growing town, property for sale in Havant is conveniently located for access to the M3 and A27 road networks. By train, Havant station just a mile away and can reach London Waterloo in 77 minutes, Portsmouth in 14 minutes, Southampton in 40 minutes and Chichester in 12 minutes. For journeys further afield, Southampton Airport has an expansive list of national and international destinations, and London Heathrow is only 59 miles away.
