Seamer: A picturesque village less than 5 miles from Scarborough

Northfield Meadows is a new build development with great amenities on your doorstep. You'll find great public houses situated in Seamer - The Mayfield Seamer is just one mile from Northfield Meadows. Or for days when you want to enjoy some freshly caught local produce, head to Seamer Fisheries in the village centre for a portion of fish and chips.

The village itself is home to a supermarket, post office, hair salons, churches, and lots of green space. There's even a local primary school rated 'Good' by Ofsted, making it particularly appealing to young families.

The famous resort of Scarborough is 3.5 miles away on the Yorkshire coast. Here, you can visit the 11th-century ruins of Scarborough Castle, which separates the more tranquil north bay from the livelier south bay. On the north bay, you'll find the Oriental-themed Peasholm Park, spanning 14-hectares, and the renowned Sealife Centre. Venturing to the south bay, you'll stumble across classic seaside amusements, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife scene.

Further inland, and less than 40 miles away from our new builds, is York, a charming city steeped in English history that's hugely popular with tourists from home and abroad. People visit to marvel at the largest medieval gothic cathedral in Northern Europe, while taking in the remains of Viking sites and Roman walls.

Head 16 miles towards the coast and you'll find the coastal town of Bridlington. This sea-fishing port is home to a working harbour, dating from pre-Roman times, and is famous for shellfish. It has a high street full of independent shops and eateries.

Just over 20 miles further up the coast is Whitby, another port popular with visitors due to its mix of historic buildings, galleries, and independent businesses, in a setting surrounded by the rolling hills of the North York Moors National Park. Our Northfield Meadows new build homes are surrounded by great spots to visit.

Local schools and education

Our new build homes in Seamer are ideally placed for families, thanks to the range of 'Good' Ofsted-rated schools nearby.

For primary education, these include Wykeham Church of England Primary School and Seamer and Irton Community Primary School, where the latest Ofsted report states that the leadership team "are passionate about providing the best possible educational experiences for pupils". For secondary education, you can choose from St Augustine's Catholic School and Scalby School, amongst others.

If you're looking at further education, you're spoilt for choice with universities nearby in York, Leeds and Hull. On top of this, CU Scarborough is a new campus-based university run by Coventry University.

Transport and travel

Our new build houses at Northfield Meadows may be situated in a village, but that doesn't mean getting out and about is difficult, thanks to plenty of handy connections. Regular buses run from Seamer to Scarborough, with links to Pickering, Sinnington and Helmsley. Meanwhile, drivers can take advantage of the A64 just 1.2 miles away, which gives you easy access to York (one hour away) and Leeds (90 minutes away).

Just over a mile away, Seamer train station offers services to Scarborough that take approximately 10 minutes. You can even get a three-hour train to Liverpool via York and make the most of routes to Manchester, Hull, and Sheffield.

A little further afield, Scarborough train station is four miles away from our Northfield Meadows new build homes and has frequent trains to Leeds, Hull, and York, all of which offer links to other major cities, like Manchester, Sheffield, and London.

We reserve the right to refuse to agree to Smooth Move and we are under no obligation to give reasons why. We will instruct local estate agents to undertake an independent valuation and marketing advice for your current home before we make you a proposal on a marketing price for your home. The realistic sale price may be lower than an initial marketing price and is based on a sale within a specified timescale fixed by us. You have the final say at the price at which the property is marketed, but Smooth Move will not be available if the price at which you wish to market your current home is higher than we think is realistic or the timescale is too long. You must agree: 1. No party is currently negotiating to purchase your current home 2. No introduction has already been made by another party 3. Not to instruct another estate agent to sell your current home. You may need to leave a full set of keys and agree to access accompanied viewings for potential buyers with the appointed estate agents. You agree that Linden Homes will determine which estate agent is instructed and the terms of that appointment. It is not guaranteed that a buyer will be found for your current home or that any buyer will be willing to pay the price you want. Linden Homes may continue to market your chosen Linden home and reserves the right to take a reservation on this home until the sale of your current home to a third party is agreed and you pay the reservation fee on your chosen Linden home. Any sale of your current home to a third-party buyer is at a price approved by you.
