Why make Exeter your home?

The rich history of this beautiful cathedral city can be seen in the Georgian buildings, cobbled streets and heritage attractions, many of which are free to visit and provide a wonderful day of discovery for the whole family.

Shopaholics can easily while away a day at Princesshay, the trendy shopping mall which houses a collection of over 70 high street brands and independent boutiques. The shopping centre is also home to the Princesshay City Bee Project, started in 2012 as part of the city’s wider biodiversity strategy. You can even volunteer as a Princesshay beekeeper and be a part of the project! As well as a plethora of restaurants, pubs and contemporary wine bars, there are three cinemas and three theatres in Exeter, so residents will never be short of evening entertainment.

There are plenty of sports and activities to get involved in too. Learn to canoe, kayak or even paddleboard along England’s oldest ship canal, go cycling, or take to the trees at the Go Ape high ropes courses hidden within Haldon Forest Park. If you prefer indoor sports, the University of Exeter has various sports facilities that are open to the public, including swimming pools, gyms and tennis coaching for all ages.
