Upper Rissington Carollers New And Old In Harmony For Christmas
23 Dec 2014

The latest arrivals to the Cotswold village of Upper Rissington were given a warm Christmas welcome when a choir of local carollers visited Linden Homes’ new Victory Fields development.

To help build community links, the singers from Christian community group CUR:ve (Church in Upper Rissington: valuing everyone) went from door to door on Thursday December 18th performing yuletide hymns and offering chocolates.

Victory Fields comprises over 300 homes being built on the former site of RAF Rissington, once home to the Red Arrows. A new primary school is being constructed as well as a village square with a local shop and proposed public house.

The new villagers were invited by CUR:ve to an evening of community carol singing on one of the development’s many green spaces where mince pies and mulled wine were served from Linden Homes’ sales and marketing suite.

Rob French from CUR:ve, said: “We were delighted to work with Linden Homes to run the evening of carols and festivities. It was a great success and it was a pleasure to meet the new residents up at Victory Fields in Upper Rissington. We are really pleased that Linden Homes has been so proactive to engage with us and this is another example of where the new and established community are coming together to form an exciting and vibrant place to live.”

Steve Garton, Linden Homes Thames Valley sales and marketing director, added: “It was lovely to hear the carollers going door to door making everyone feel so welcome and Christmassy.

“Although the homes and residents at Victory Fields are new, they are quickly becoming part of the local neighbourhood. We were very happy to have played our part in helping organise this event.

“People are buying at Victory Fields because of the quality of the homes and the beautiful location – but also because of the incredibly friendly community.”

CUR:ve is an ecumenical partnership of local Anglicans, Methodists and Baptists from around the area who work together to provide community and religious activities in Upper Rissington.

New arrivals at Victory Fields have been looking to Linden Homes’ superior quality and all-inclusive value, including fully-fitted kitchens with ceramic floor tiling, bathrooms with contemporary sanitaryware and wall tiling.

From Victory Fields, main roads link to the motorway network giving access to the M40, the M4 and the M5. The nearest train station is at Kingham, from where services can reach London Paddington in about an hour and a half. The nearest international airports are Birmingham and Heathrow.
