There is now just one executive home remaining at the extremely popular Burntwood Square development in Brentwood.
The four bedroom semi-detached home is a ‘Shenfield’ and is arranged over three floors. It has a generous kitchen, family room/dining room with patio doors into the garden. The master bedroom, on the top floor has its own ensuite shower room. The home is finished to a very high specification and includes a fully integrated kitchen with granite worktops and fully fitted bathrooms.
Burntwood Square is an unusual collection of new and carefully refurbished homes set in a conservation area in 17 acres of landscaped gardens and arranged around a central green. It was originally the site of the Victorian Highwood and Little Highwood hospitals.
The Shenfield is eligible for the Government’s Help to Buy scheme*. The scheme came into effect on April 1st last year. This Government backed equity scheme enables buyers to purchase a new home with just 5% deposit and a 20% Government equity loan – a loan that can be repaid at any time within the first 25 years and its interest free for five years.
Vicky Wiltshire used the scheme to buy a Linden Home just before Christmas. As she works in the property industry, she was already well aware of Help to Buy and was able to speak to colleagues about how best to get a mortgage using the scheme:
“I had looked into the Help to Buy scheme before we saw the house, to see if it could work for us. I think that it really is an easy scheme to use. And it can make a big difference to the house buying budget. If we had tried to purchase our new home without it our budget wouldn’t have stretched to what we actually wanted to buy. With Help to Buy, we were able to look at properties that were in a different bracket.”
To make it easier to move house to Burntwood Square, Roseanne Bullen, the regional sales and marketing manager says that Linden Homes can offer customers its popular Part Exchange Scheme*:
“Under the scheme, Linden Homes becomes your guaranteed buyer – and takes on the task of having your existing property valued and marketed. With that side of the move dealt with, you can concentrate on buying your new home because you won’t need to arrange viewings of your old home, you don’t need to pay any estate agents fees and there are no brittle property chains to threaten your moving plans.”
It is a scheme that has worked really well for many Linden Homes’ buyers. They have told us that knowing some of the stress and frustration of selling would be removed actually inspired them to go ahead with plans to buy a new home.
Linden Homes’ customer Neil Archbold took advantage of the scheme to buy a new four bedroom home because he and his family needed more space: He says the whole process went very smoothly:
“We had no idea that moving house could happen so quickly: It was so easy – it really was. It is so much simpler to move house when you don’t have to worry about one whole side of it. All we had to do was make an offer on our new home and the rest just followed.”
