Linden Homes has entered the final stage of construction at its Cincinnati development, named in honour of the site’s past, where a total of 101 homes are being built.
Work has started on the final homes at the development, adjacent to the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, and all construction work is set to be completed in the autumn.
Linda Huntington, Head of Sales for Linden Homes West Midlands, said: “We are extremely proud to have brought the landmark Cincinnati factory site back into use by creating an attractive canalside development of new homes.
“The development has completely transformed a derelict brownfield site and delivered a range of much-needed high quality new homes for sale close to the centre of Birmingham.
“The site’s convenient location and canalside setting have made it a popular choice for house buyers, and there are now only six homes remaining for sale at the development.
“Construction work at Cincinnati is progressing well and we are very much looking forward to putting the finishing touches to the development in the coming months.”
The Cincinnati factory operated for 73 years, and made machinery including lathes and bore machines for businesses across the UK and further afield.
At its peak, the plant employed around 2,000 people, but after it closed in 2008, the buildings became derelict and fell into disrepair.
Planning permission to regenerate the 2.54-hectare site was granted by Birmingham City Council in December 2015, and Linden Homes began construction work shortly afterwards.
The development comprises a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
