Swanmore College’s girls’ football team and boys’ rugby team have been sporting their brand new kits for their first games of the season. The kits include twelve sets of football shorts, socks and shirts and twenty sets of rugby tops and shorts – and were sponsored by Linden Homes South.
Peter Youll is the managing director at the award winning housebuilder who commented on the donation to the reputable secondary school: “We are delighted to be able to help the sports’ teams at Swanmore College. It’s a great way for Linden Homes to be able to give something to the community. We are always committed to supporting residents, families, schools and colleges in the areas where we are building. The pupils look really smart in their new kits, so we hope they get lots of use out on the pitches.”
He continued: “We know that sometimes there can be some inconvenience and noise during a build – and we really appreciate the patience and understanding that we receive from local people. It’s our way of saying thank you.”
Mr Kyle Jonathan is the Headteacher at Swanmore College, who was delighted to receive the sports kits for the pupils’ use. He commented: “We would like to thank Linden Homes for its generosity in providing our new football and rugby kits, which the pupils at Swanmore College will enjoy for many years to come.”
Set adjacent to Linden Homes’ Scholars Grange, Swanmore College is a popular and successful school for 11–16 year olds. The College recently achieved an impressive 79 per cent pass rate of A*-C GCSE grades for its pupils in 2015 – a 5 per cent hike on the previous year. Swanmore College is also home to Swanmore Leisure, which includes a variety of community facilities including a fitness suite which boasts 28 stations of state-of-the-art equipment.
The new collection of homes currently being built by Linden Homes, Scholar’s Grange, will eventually consist of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes – some of which are now open to view.
