Linden Homes South West started 2015 in a good position and it’s looking advantageous for homebuyers too…

“It’s certainly been a busy year for Linden Homes so far. The company finished 2014 in a strong position and 2015 has been even more promising.

“The Government’s new changes to Stamp Duty Tax thresholds have been fantastic for homebuyers and it’s helping people to move quickly.”

For example, for a £300,000 home the stamp duty payable previously amounted to £9,000. Under the new rules this is reduced to £5,000 – a saving to the customer of £4,000.

Alison adds: “Homebuyers are becoming more and more decisive and homes are selling quickly. Visitors usually arrive at the development having done a lot of research online beforehand and they’re also taking advantage of current initiatives designed to help them move like Part Exchange and the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

“Locally we’ve launched a number of developments in the last three months, including White Rock in Paignton, Kings Gate in Kingsteignton and Camomile Lawn in Totnes – creating some beautiful family homes in great locations. We are also selling the last five properties at The Copse, our popular development in Ogwell, and have almost sold the whole of phase one at Orestone View in Goodrington, with the second phase soon to be released.”

Alison concludes: “Torbay is a beautiful area, so we do experience a high level of visitors and enquiries to our developments. With a healthy land bank and some fantastic new projects in the pipeline, it really is an exciting time for Linden Homes and the housebuilding industry as a whole.”
