Production Director Goes To Great Heights For Charity

Linden Homes’ new production director, Mike Crawford has raised over £3,200 for Parkinson’s UK by taking part in a 10,000 foot skydive with his father, who lives with the condition.

Mike said: “My father, John, was diagnosed with Parkinson's 10 years ago but with the charity’s research and continuous improvements to medicine, it means he continues to lead a relatively normal life. It was fantastic to achieve such an amazing feat together and raise so much money for Parkinson’s UK – a big thank you to Linden Homes for its donation.”

Mike has taken part in a number of fundraising events for the charity, including climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, while his father has trekked to Machu Picchu in Peru.

Linden Homes South West managing director, Bradley Davison, said: “What a wonderful achievement for a very special cause. We’re very proud of Mike and pleased to be supporting the charity. It’s a leap of faith not many could do!”

In September, Mike also took part in the Housebuilders Mountain Marathon with assistant site manager, Oliver Swift. The challenge involved hiking 26 miles across the Lake District’s rugged terrain – including the ascent of Scaffel Pike, England’s highest mountain. Together with Redrow Homes and Taylor Wimpey, over £107,000 was raised for the Youth Adventure Trust, which helps vulnerable children, aged 11 to 14 years old, by giving them the chance to take part in a series of residential adventure camps. The programme enables the participants to experience success and learn to go beyond their own expectations whilst growing in confidence.
