AS Linden Homes continues its partnership with housing association Shoreline – community spirit at Grimsby’s Freshney Green development continues to grow.
With around 84 new homes planned for the popular development from now until June 2014 – there is still plenty of choice for residents looking to move with assistance from Shoreline Housing Partnership.
And someone who knows more than most how beneficial moving to a brand new home in an area that has been truly transformed by Linden Homes can be is Martin Haughey.
Martin was a resident of the former Yarborough Estate – the area which was revamped and replaced by the Freshney Green new homes some four years ago.
Back then, Martin played a vital role within the community, through his efforts in maintaining the community centre and disused gardens.
His commitment and spirit has been recognised by many during the past four years, and when his contract with Shoreline expired recently, Martin’s contribution to the local area was thought so valuable – that he was employed by Linden Homes.
Martin continues in a maintenance role on the development, working alongside long serving site manager John Grest, who between them have built up an excellent rapport with customers and residents.
Martin, who lives at Freshney Green with his partner Stacey and sons Shay (16) and 10-year-old Blaise, said: “I have seen the amazing transformation of this area and am so thrilled to be a part of this community, working alongside Shoreline Housing Partnership and Linden Homes to continue the excellent work which has seen this area turn into something truly brilliant – and a great place to bring up a family.”
Linden Homes’ construction director Darron Facey said: “Martin’s commitment to the community is immeasurable and his energy and enthusiasm is infectious. We are delighted to have Martin on the team as we continue our successful and exciting journey with Shoreline Housing Partnership at Freshney Green.”
