From dentistry to new homes developments – Vistry Yorkshire’s Megan Marshall is celebrating a promotion to marketing manager after building herself a career in the property sector.
On searching for a new challenge following eight-years in a variety of non-clinical dentistry posts, Megan (pictured) took up another customer facing position with Linden Homes –now part of the newly-formed Vistry Group.
On making an impact on the business as a receptionist, she was then asked to take on an administrative role alongside it.
She said: “I worked in dentistry for just under eight years and held a variety of posts from patient coordinator, interim practice manager and infection control lead.
“I decided I wanted a career change, but I was so used to providing a service that I wanted to be in an industry that supplied something significant to the public.”
Megan added: “Shortly after I started at Linden Homes, I began working across different departments to get a feel for the business – from land acquisition right through the handing over the keys to customers. This was great as I wanted to learn as much as I could.”
It was during a visit to a development that a senior member of the sales team approached Megan, offering her a role as a sales executive at one of the developments in East Riding – shortly after, she took up a sales administration role at head office.
In 2016 Megan took up a full-time role with the sales team; her admin duties growing to becoming responsible for the marketing schedule and overseeing advertising and PR.
In recent months she has been acting marketing manager for Linden Homes East Yorkshire prior to the new formation of the Vistry Group – which takes in Linden Homes and Bovis Homes, and is one of the top five housebuilders in the UK.
Sales director Steve Woomble added: “My huge congratulations to Megan on her richly-deserved promotion for a role she has been doing effectively and successfully for some time. Megan is a ‘doer’ and is willing and able to take on and deliver a wide range of marketing and other responsibilities and is a hugely valued member of our team.”
