Lorton Gardens - The Commuter's Quiet Haven
28 Feb 2014

Lorton Gardens is a Linden Homes development of just fourteen homes tucked away at the end of pretty Lorton Lane near the beautiful Lorton Meadows nature reserve. The homes here have quickly and quietly (almost) sold out.

Set within walking distance of the train station, these homes are also well connected to good road and bus links to Weymouth and Dorchester.

Many of the proud new owners at Lorton Gardens say the easy commute from their new home is a real plus: Vicky Wiltshire moved to Lorton Gardens just before Christmas and says the location is perfect for her and her husband Russell and says they can both get to work – in different directions – very easily.

“The lovely thing about Lorton Gardens is that there are no surrounding buildings overlooking you. It is so peaceful and quiet – and yet it’s so conveniently close to the main road that it is easy for me to get to Weymouth and so quick for Russell to get on the road to Yeovil.”

There is just two homes now available at Lorton Gardens: a three bedroom, semi-detached property called ‘The Wisteria’.

Kelly and Daniel Waterhouse have just moved to a new Linden Home in Hampshire after selling their old 1930s home and opting for a new build home instead: Kelly says the Linden Homes’ finish made her change her mind about new build homes:

“I got to the stage where I wanted to live somewhere where everything works – where the doors aren’t all a bit wonky - and we really needed an extra bedroom too. To be honest, to start with I had been concerned about leaving my lovely 1930s characterful home behind, with its walled gardens, four fireplaces and picture rails: In fact I wondered if some of my friends would think I was mad. But our new home is fantastic; everyone who has seen it is really impressed. We had looked at other new build homes, from other companies, but nothing was finished to as a high a standard as the Linden homes.”

One way to make it easier to buy at Lorton Gardens, if you have an existing home to sell, is to take advantage of the Linden Homes’ Part Exchange Scheme*. With this scheme, Linden Homes becomes your guaranteed buyer and takes on the task of having your existing property valued and marketed so you don’t have to go through the rigours of selling your own property. It means you won’t have to arrange viewings for your existing home and you won’t need to pay any estate agents fees.

Help to Buy is also available at Lorton Gardens: This Government led scheme has been running for almost a year and it is estimated that already almost 13,000 buyers have taken advantage of this equity loan plan to help them purchase a new home.
