Live In Poldark Country
08 Apr 2015

Location is everything when it comes to buying a new home and where better to live than Poldark country!

Much of the action in BBC’s popular TV series Poldark takes place outdoors, against the backdrop of Cornwall’s breathtaking and rugged coastline.

Charlestown, near St Austell and Linden Homes’ Coast @ Two Coves development in Duporth, boasts an original Grade ll listed harbour and is famed for its collection of tall ships - perfect for Poldark author, Winston Graham’s 18th century setting.

It is not the first time Charlestown has been singled out, location managers have used the village for a number of filming projects, including Doctor Who, Rebecca, Alice in Wonderland, Moll Flanders and Mansfield Park.

Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes said: “Reservations and visitor levels at Coast @ Two Coves have certainly increased since the TV series highlighted the beautiful local scenery. The ‘Poldark effect’ is definitely having an impact on sales and I’m not surprised as this particular corner of Cornwall is such a stunning part of the world.

“The south west has a magnetic attraction, people who live here try to keep its appeal a secret and those that visit never want to leave so I’m thrilled it’s had the same effect on the location managers!

“Cornwall is arguably one of the best places to live, there is rugged coastline, unspoilt beaches, hidden coves, thriving towns, a city with a rich heritage, picturesque villages, rolling hills and atmospheric moors – it really does have something for everyone.”

Coast @ Two Coves is a beautiful new homes development in Duporth, just a short walk from Charlestown, featuring a range of two bedroom apartments. The homes are ready to move into, include garages, fitted carpets and boast direct access to Duporth beach.

Brian added: “When you visit Coast @ Two Coves, it’s not difficult to see why the development has been so popular. It is well situated, surrounded by woodland and with a wonderful view out to sea. When it comes to location, Poldark country is hard to beat!”

According to the UK’s number one property website Rightmove, searches for property in Poldark’s filming locations in Cornwall have more than doubled since the BBC show came to our screens.

Linden Homes is also building homes locally in Penryn, Truro, Camborne and Redruth.
