Leading housebuilder Linden Homes is helping budding young entrepreneurs locally by continuing its support for Young Enterprise Plymouth.
Part of the national framework ‘Young Enterprise UK’, the business education charity provides programmes for children and young people from seven years to 25 years, through Plymouth Area secondary schools and with the support of volunteer business advisers from local companies. The organisation introduces the concepts of trade and business and provides hands-on practical experience for the upper age groups.
Michael Stewart chairs an enthusiastic board of volunteers at Young Enterprise Plymouth and said: “The Young Enterprise project is really important as it gives upwards of 150 young people each year a taste of what it’s like to set up and run their own businesses.
“We are very grateful to Linden Homes for its support again this year, helping to inspire and motivate the entrepreneurs of the future.”
A Christmas Trade Fair offered an exciting opportunity for members of Young Enterprise Plymouth to sell seasonal arts and craft goods and support for the charity, Hugs from Henry, at the Devonport Guildhall.
Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “I was pleased to see the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the teams and it was amazing to see the work that they had put into their stands and the products that they were selling.
“We are delighted to support such a wonderful initiative and look forward to hearing how their businesses take shape.”
Linden Homes is currently creating new homes at Beechfield Grove, located between Hartley, Mannamead and Peverell, Emerge in Devonport, PQ2 in Millbay and at Sherford, as part of the Sherford consortium.
