THE Golden Age of Rail is being commemorated in York – as Linden Homes goes full steam ahead for the launch of a prestigious new development.
Named in tribute to the building of what in its heyday was the largest railway station in the world, the 1877 development at Ouseacre will be made up of 57 new homes - built in a range of two-storey styles and designs to complement the existing area.
The stunning selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes in a quiet corner of North Yorkshire will receive its official unveiling on January 19-20 – during a weekend of live entertainment and a touch of nostalgia.
Special guests during the weekend will be the first residents to buy at the development, who will be cutting the ribbon alongside world-famous town crier Michael Wood – who is swapping his traditional attire for that of an old style railway guard.
Other attractions during in the lead up and the weekend itself include:
The homes at 1877 will boast designer kitchens and bathrooms, energy efficiency fittings and the latest hi-tech wiring for home entertainment and communication are among the many benefits.
A number of the new homes have already been sold from plan.
The development is perfectly positioned, just a four-minute drive from the railway station and less than 10 minutes from bustling centre of York – as well as being within easy walking distance of the town centre and railway station.
