It's A Hat-Trick: Swallowhurst Site Manager Awarded NHBC Pride In The Job Quality Awards
27 Jul 2015

Steve Green, the site manager at Swallowhurst, a flagship development by Linden Homes in partnership with Wates’ Developments, in Cranleigh, Surrey, has been awarded an NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award for the third time.

Demonstrating exceptional standards in every aspect of their work, Steve and five other site managers from Linden Homes were selected among 430 of the UK’s best site managers from more than 15,000 entrants working on housing projects registered with the NHBC.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards is the only awards scheme to reward site managers for their responsibility in delivering residential developments from start to finish.

Steve was praised for his ‘meticulous and consistent attention to detail’, ‘quality of workmanship’, and ‘excellent leadership, technical expertise and robust health and safety processes’ in addition to a ‘certain 'X' factor’.

Steve will now be put forward for the Seal of Excellence Awards which will be presented to the top 130 site managers out of the 430 Quality Award winners.

Having worked on joint ventures with Linden Homes Guildford and Wates Developments for almost a decade, Steve said: “Swallowhurst continues to be a fantastically rewarding development to work on, it’s a very prestigious site in a rural area and the houses are of a particularly traditional construction; architecturally the build has been challenging. I’m delighted to have won for a third time, however this is very much a massive team effort and this award is a credit to everyone who has been involved.”

As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, Pride in the Job judges assess site managers across 38 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.

Peter Youll, managing director Linden Homes Guildford, said: “At Linden Homes we pride ourselves on the quality of our homes and the skill of our employees; these awards reflect exactly that. Congratulations to all six winners, and, in particular, to Steve who has won the award for the third time.”

Set in 33 acres of stunning historic woodland just a mile from the centre of Cranleigh, Swallowhurst is an eclectic collection of four, five and six-bedroom executive family homes, which perfectly combine both traditional and contemporary country living.

A new five-bedroom show home is now open at the latest phase of the development. For more information or to make an appointment to view, contact Linden Homes on 0844 417 5985. (This call will cost you 7p per minute plus your phone company’s access charge).
