A site manager at Linden Homes’ Mosaic development in St Albans has beaten thousands of rivals around the country to be one of the honoured few to win a Pride in the Job Quality Award for his professionalism.
Steve Meeking (40), from Harefield in Middlesex was among 13,000 around the UK to be scrutinised for the accolade by the National House-Building Council, which aims to strengthen standards in the industry.
Pride in the Job is the housebuilding’s most prestigious awards programme, and for 32 years it has recognised the UK's best site managers for their leadership, technical expertise, robust health and safety processes – and a certain X factor.
Steve Meeking said: “I’m very proud to have won this award but it’s really a reflection of the team effort that has gone into delivering such quality homes at Mosaic. We work hard to maintain the highest standards and run a truly professional site.
“It’s brilliant to have that recognised by this award but I think the standard of the homes speak for itself when you see the happy reaction of the families arriving here on moving day!”
Steve will pick up his award on October 25th at Athena, in Leicester, with fellow winners from the NHBC’s East region.
Linden Homes Chiltern managing director Darren Maddox said: “Congratulations to Steve and his team. They’ve proved under rigorous inspection how Linden Homes is committed to the very highest standards.
“I’m delighted that all the effort we’ve put in for our customers has been recognised by fellow construction professionals. Now we have to build on this and do even better next year!”
Steve is among seven site managers across the country in the Linden Homes group to pick up a Pride in the Job Quality Award.
