Forget the Great British Bake Off, aspiring Mary Berrys from Linden Homes Midlands have been cooking up some smashing sponges and perfect pastries of their own.
Colleagues from the developer’s head office in Peterborough have been selling their cakes and bakes in support of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, boosting Macmillan Cancer Care coffers.
Staff tucked in to a range of sweet treats provided by star bakers at the Orton Southgate office – including Janice Browne, Sam Boylan and Mikaela Chesher – helping to raise £90 for the good cause.
Coffee morning organiser Janice said: “It was a really enjoyable morning and our huge thanks to all the staff who supported the event.”
No strangers to fundraising, Linden Homes Midlands staff have over the past 12 months raised several thousands pounds for the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall hospice appeal in Peterborough; the summer annual charity Golf Day raised £5,000 for the East of England CYP Diabetes Network and £1,500 was recently raised for the Dreamflight charity.
