House Builder Joins Beer Festival Organisers In Raising A Glass For Charity
15 Sep 2015

The countdown is on to one of the region’s best-loved fundraising events – with developer Linden Homes North raising a glass to its on-going success.

The Hessle-based new homes builder is once again sponsoring the main marquee at the 12th Pocktoberfest Beer Festival, with preparations now well under way for the popular event on Saturday, October 10.

Last year, the event raised almost £9,000 for Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Help for Heroes, local Riding for the Disabled, schools and many other local and community good causes.

Organised by the Pocklington & Market Weighton Round Table, the revelry takes place at the town’s Rugby Club – providing a packed day of beer and real ale drinking, food and a showcase of live music.

Round table vice chairman Greg Frith said: “We were delighted that Linden Homes has decided to come on board again this year, and we look forward to building on the 500 plus visitors who joined us at the 2014 event and making them welcome in the Linden Homes marquee.

“Pocktoberfest is a very popular date in the local social calendar and we are expecting another fantastic turn out. It’s so rewarding to know that a small team of us can pull together a beer festival that is so much enjoyed by the local community and is a firm October date in everyone’s calendar, but that also does so much for local causes.

“Of course all this wouldn’t be possible without the tremendous support of our sponsors, who help us cover the costs of the event, and allow our ticket and beer sales to be entirely banked in the charity account!

Steve Woomble, sales director for Linden Homes North added: “It is a great pleasure to support such a popular event taking place right in the heart of our community, and one which we know is so very greatly thought of and well attended – and above all, raises money for local good causes.”

Linden Homes North has an established association with the area, and is currently building a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes at its popular Pocklington development The Balk and at its Market Weighton development, Bradley Meadow
