Home Hunters Can Take Their Pick Of 'Affordable' Desirable Towns In The North

With research showing that house hunters in the North of England are among those paying a premium for a new home in a market town - Linden Homes has a more desirable and affordable option.

A recent study by Lloyds Bank revealed that in some parts of the UK, homebuyers are forking out a premium of up to £34,000 compared to neighbouring areas.

London and the South of England are the most expensive, with the more affordable market towns found in the North of England, according to the survey.

Ferryhill, at an average of £93,291 and Crook at £108,603, both in Durham are the least expensive market towns.

The horse racing market town of Wetherby – the location for Linden Homes West Yorkshire regional office - has the next highest premium, with an average house price that is double the rest of West Yorkshire - at £341,618 against £171,236, a cash premium of £170,383.
