A modern, attractive and functional kitchen is a major selling point of a brand new property – and remains the heart of the home for new build buyers.

The kitchen has long been the hub of a home, either as a family focal point, a retreat for budding bakers, the entertaining zone or a single person’s stylish space.

And with The Great British Bake Off now back on our screens, more and more home hunters may be placing increased importance of having a fantastic kitchen as part of their search for a brand new home.

According to research carried out by the NHBC (National House Building Council), twice as many people say they ‘love’ their kitchens than love their bedrooms!

A survey of 2,500 homeowners found that nearly one in 10 (216) said the feature they loved most about their new-build home was the kitchen, compared to just 95 people who cited the bedroom.
