From toys and games to festive food and treats – generous house building staff have started their Christmas preparations early, with a charity wish list for needy families and youngsters.
Linden Homes East Yorkshire has launched a double appeal in the run up to Christmas, supporting two local charities to try and lift the festive spirits of dozens of people across the East and South Yorkshire regions.
The company, which has its head office in Doncaster, will be collecting gifts for children and youngsters who may otherwise miss out, through Cash for Kids – a UK wide charity which supports children who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.
This year’s Missions Christmas campaign will be collecting new gifts through generous individual and business donations to enable the charity to distribute and deliver presents to children in time for Christmas Day.
Gill Hardy who is overseeing the collection on behalf of Linden Homes said: “As in previous years, we as a company select a good cause to support at Christmas time and all suggestions are put to the vote.
“With so many worthy causes, it has been difficult to choose, but we are delighted to be supporting Cash for Kids’ festive appeal and a number of toys and gifts have already been donated.
“In addition, we are also involving all departments within the business to get behind our Reverse Advent Calendar project; encouraging staff to leave donations each day in support of the local foodbank who provide for people in crisis in South Yorkshire.”
The two campaigns will be running until mid-December.
