A prime date in the calendar for most schools is the Christmas Fair – and in the village of Kirk Hammerton, they really know how to celebrate in style.
Festive fun, games and crafts were the order of the day at Kirk Hammerton CofE Primary School’s Christmas Fair – the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Well stocked and well manned was the crowd-pleasing Christmas Café, which this year received a cash boost from Linden Homes West Yorkshire – who are currently building two brand new developments in Green Hammerton and Kirk Hammerton.
Caroline Howard, chair of the Friends, said: “The Christmas Café is really popular, selling roast turkey rolls and sausage sandwiches, homemade mince pies and hot drinks. A few of us mums cook the turkeys and make the stuffing.
“The Friends would like to thank Linden Homes for their valuable contribution towards our Christmas Fair Cafe, we work so hard to raise every pound, it is great to know that every penny from Christmas Cafe sales will go directly to Friends funds which enrich the children's learning and experience at school."
The event raised an amazing £1,500. And Linden Homes’ very own sales executive Sam Thompson also took a little time out to lend a hand!
