Charity ‘tache’ Force Raises A Smile And Boosts Coffers For Mens’ Health

It may be the season to be jolly – but a team from developer Linden Homes Midlands has gone the extra mile to put a festive smile on the face of fundraisers!

While some people attempt hair-raising stunts for charity, these housebuilding staff have opted for a more subtle stubble approach!

A tache force of head office moutasteers have been among thousands of men from around the UK and globally who signed up for Movember.

And despite their efforts creating hilarity from the office environment to the boardroom, they have raised a hair raising £1,2000.

Each November, men grow moustaches to raise awareness of, and funds for, prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men – registering with the charity and seeking sponsorship for their efforts.

Since 2003 Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

As well as cancer and other health issues, mental wellbeing and encouraging men to talk about their feelings forms part of the Movember campaign – with statistics revealing that 60 men are lost to suicide each hour across the world.

Leading the tache force is Linden Homes Midlands technical manager Gary Fane. He said: “We are delighted to be raising money for and awareness of men’s health to assist The Movember movement!

“On a personal level, like many of us, I have lost loved ones through various types of cancer so in memory to them Ive been quite happy to look more foolish than usual for a few weeks!”

Joining Gary for the Linden Homes Mo-vement were; Alan Lusha, Fraser Hopes, Gary Martin, Mark Bond, Matthew Parker and William Baxandall.
