During the festive season, the village is also renowned for its Christmas light display.
Those looking to take in the beauty of West Penwith’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can enjoy walks along the coastline, and there are boat trips which take in Mousehole and nearby Newlyn Harbour, plus St Michael’s Mount.
Just 10 miles away is Land’s End, the world-famous headland, easily reachable via the A30. The most westerly point of mainland Cornwall and England, this scenic section of the Penwith peninsula is ideal for walking, and is also popular with rock climbers. The many pathways lead to some awe-inspiring views, including spectacular granite cliffs and the Isles of Scilly, which are visible on clear and sunny days. A longer, direct service to London Paddington is also in operation, and takes around five hours.
