Despite the average age of first-time buyers being 33, Sophie and Riven are proud homeowners at just 24 years old.
The couple has swapped a long-distance relationship for a three-bedroom home at Linden Homes’ Bollin Grange development in Macclesfield. Location was a top priority for the couple who wanted to find a home situated between Merseyside and Derby, where their families live.
They have been able to purchase their new home after saving up a deposit for around three years. Opting for a new-build home, the couple’s home features a cost-saving, sustainable design, brand new appliances, and no need for costly renovations.
The couple was supported through their first purchase by the Linden Homes team, which is highly experienced in helping first-time buyers navigate the process of buying.
Speaking about the experience, Sophie said: “As first-time buyers, we were nervous going into the process. However, we worked with the mortgage advisor that Linden Homes recommended who helped us understand our options. We were also able to use Linden Homes’ financial boost scheme to help cover the increased stamp duty costs.”
The couple are now owners of a three-bedroom, detached Becket home, one of the most popular designs from Linden Homes.
Sophie said: “We settled on Macclesfield because I can easily commute to work in Birmingham while living in a home surrounded by green space on the edge of the Peak District. We looked at other towns nearby, but they just weren't as well-connected. It takes me the same amount of time to get to the office as it does for my colleagues living in Birmingham!”
Bollin Grange was launched by Linden Homes earlier this year. Prices for the collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes, situated off Gaw End Lane, currently start at £349,995.
