Welcome Home - First New Customers Of 2014 Presented With Luxury Hamper
01 Feb 2014

WITH an exiting year ahead, Mike Williams and Faith Badham have achieved their first 2014 milestone - moving out of rented accommodation and into a brand new place of their own.

The first time buyers – who plan to get married later this year - are celebrating a dream home in Beverley.

And to celebrate the couple being Linden Homes’ first customers of 2014 to move to the St Nicholasgate development, they were welcomed into their new home with a luxury food hamper.

Avionics engineer Mike (31) and maths teacher Faith (27) are now settling into their new home, having rented a property just a stone’s throw from the development for the past few months.

After saving a deposit to buy their own home and settle in the area they know well, the couple – who have spent the past five years moving from one rental property to another across the country - used the popular Help to Buy scheme to secure their dream property.

Mike, who works at Humberside Airport explained: “We moved after relocating jobs last summer. Both of us are from this area so we know it well and wanted to come back here, initially because of being close to friends and family, good access to motorways and a well-respected reputation of the Beverley area.”

Faith added: “We had the deposit to use the Help to Buy scheme which allowed us the flexibility to deal with our finances ourselves, and take advantage of the five years interest-free government contribution. As we are due to marry later this year, we decided it would be a better option for us in terms of saving up for the wedding.”

The short distance from development to the town centre, with its many restaurants, cafés, shops and bars suit the couple’s social lifestyle.

And they are so happy with their new home that they recommended Linden Homes to family members, who have also recently moved to St Nicholasgate.

Since the introduction of the Government-backed Help to Buy incentive in April 2013 – numerous customers like Mike and Faith, have used the scheme to secure their new home.

Here’s how it works:

  • It is available on new build or second hand homes up to a maximum of £600,000.
  • A deposit of just five per cent is required.
  • The government will lend buyers up to 20 per cent of the value of their new build home through an equity loan, which can be repaid at any time or on the sale of the home (this loan is not available on second hand properties).
  • Buyers will only need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage from a bank or building society.

A range of two and three bedroom homes are currently available at St Nicholasgate. For more information call into the sales and marketing suite, which is open daily from 10.30am until 5pm or contact the sales team on 01482 863711.
