The Bridgerton Effect On Bath
01 Feb 2021

It may have amassed an astonishing 82 million views in its first month, but it’s not just the story of Bridgerton that’s attracting attention. The city of Bath is highlighted in the TV series and homebuyers are eager to live nearby and enjoy the stunning backdrop.

The Netflix classic, which depicts life in Regency England, is filmed in a number of locations in Bath, showcasing: the Pump Rooms, Pulteney Bridge, the Assembly Rooms, The Royal Crescent, Bath Street, The Guildhall and Holburne Museum, near Linden Homes’ Ensleigh development in Bath.

A similar trend occurred in Cornwall when the BBC Poldark series was aired and 38 per cent more homes were reserved at Linden Homes’ Two Coves development in Duporth. Rightmove also confirmed searches for property in the filming locations in Cornwall more than doubled, after the first series alone.

Sue Scholfield, sales and marketing director, commented: “Bath is a city that everyone is aware of but to see it filmed so beautifully in Bridgerton reminds you just how wonderful it is. Enquiry levels have definitely increased since the TV series began and the city was put in the spotlight.

“Bath is an iconic city and I have been impressed to see how innovatively Bath has been regenerated over the years, while remaining respectful and sympathetic to its history and existing architecture. The introduction of the Thermae Bath Spa is the epitome of this, celebrating its rich heritage while offering an opportunity for tourists and the local community to enjoy its delights!”

Linden Homes has been creating new homes in Bath and work started on site in 2016. Designed by local architects – Nash Partnerships – to complement the surrounding area, Ensleigh features an exclusive collection of well-designed, high quality homes, set in an elevated position in the Lansdown area, just minutes from the city centre.

The development of 136 homes will be completed this year. Sue added: “We are very proud of the homes we are creating and it’s fantastic to see the development almost finished, with just a few properties remaining.”

There are currently four and five bedroom homes available with a stamp duty contribution available on selected homes until June. Situated near the racecourse and surrounded by stunning countryside, the development provides easy access to the M4 and M5, plus there are several good schools close by.
