Save Up To £26,680 At Allingham Mews With Stamp Duty Christmas Gift
18 Nov 2014

Buyers could save up to nearly £27,000 in stamp duty if they reserve before Christmas Eve at the exclusive Allingham Mews development in the beautiful Hampshire village of Odiham.

Award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes is getting in the festive spirit by offering to pay the charge for customers on all of the remaining two and three-bedroom properties located just off the charming high street.

Allingham Mews mixes contemporary convenience and design on the inside with traditional character outside to create a unique rural courtyard collection offering a particularly enviable lifestyle.

Buyers who are quick enough to put down a deposit by close of business on Tuesday December 23rd could save themselves between nearly £15,000 and £26,680.

Linden Homes Guildford sales and marketing director Natalie Flint said: “We know how hectic it can be for househunters, especially as we get close to Christmas, so we’re getting into the festive spirit to give a gift that will really make a difference.

“The savings on stamp duty could be enough for some people to divert extra cash into their deposit or put towards a really nice fund for new furniture. But however people use it, we’re urging buyers not to delay – this offer will run out on December 23rd.

“Allingham Mews is an opportunity that lots of people in the area have been waiting for – beautifully built and close to amenities but also private and with the countryside on the doorstep. Add in the stamp duty saving and we expect interest to be very high.”

Reserving a three-bedroom detached house in the Porchester style, for example, would see Linden Homes paying the stamp duty of four per cent – bringing a £26,680 saving to the customer.

Reserving the three-bedroom semi-detached Doddington, meanwhile, would slice £26,480 off the cost of moving.

The three-bedroom Barnard, would bring a four per cent stamp duty saving of £26,000, while the two-bedroom semi-detached Netley would save £14,995.85 on the three per cent stamp duty.

Alternatively, for a pre-Christmas kickstart househunters could use the Part Exchange scheme in which Linden Homes acts as the guaranteed buyer to avoid the hassle of selling – and estate agent’s fees.

After a value and survey is settled, Linden Homes markets the home and all the buyer has to do is pack up and move – just in time to put the presents under the tree in a brand new living room.

In common with all Linden Homes’ developments, each Allingham Mews property comes with the peace of mind of a 10-year NHBC warranty, a two-year customer care warranty, and modern energy efficient features for lower bills.

Chris Nicklin, national partner at the Odiham branch of Strutt and Parker estate agents, explained: “Some people have been looking at Odiham for quite a length of time waiting for the right opportunity – and this is it. It’s something that’s not been seen before in this format.

“Allingham Mews has really captured the imagination, particularly of downsizers but with younger professional people in the mix too. It’s down to the skill of the architecture and the concept of a unique courtyard development within the heart of the village.”

As well as the convenience of Odiham’s well-appointed high street with its range of shops, pubs and restaurants, on the other side of Allingham Mews is a 12th century deer park.

Odiham enjoys excellent commuter links via the M3 and M4, with direct train services into London Waterloo in under an hour from nearby Hook and Winchfield railway stations. To the west lies Basingstoke and to the north is Reading; both with an array of shopping, dining and entertainment. To the south rolls out the glorious South Downs National Park.
