New Release Of Homes At Riverside Development As Sales Flow Fast
17 Feb 2014

A fresh flow of high quality new houses has been released at award-winning Linden Homes’ popular new Riverside development in Godalming, Surrey.

Since its launch in September last year, 24 homes have been reserved by property hunters anxious not to miss out on what is becoming a highly sought-after new neighbourhood in the historic market town.

The latest to reach the market are five three-bedroom three-story townhouses, on plots 24-28. Each has its own garage plus a garden room featuring floor-to-ceiling glass to enjoy looking out across their inclusive turfed lawns.

The tide of customers has been led by families attracted by the desirable yet attainable combination of quality, value and well-connected location by the banks of the River Wey, close to the heart of Godalming.

The development is a thoughtful arrangement of traditionally designed and very spacious two, three and four-bedroom houses as well as two-bedroom apartments.

The leafy new community's popularity means only two homes remain from the previous release: a pair of three-bedroom townhouses in the Tyburn style.

In common with all Linden Homes properties, each Riverside home comes with integrated kitchen appliances as standard, plus a 10-year NHBC warranty and two-year customer care warranty for peace of mind.

Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “Riverside has been a real success story with homes being snapped up very quickly. Many have been reserved off-plan which I think shows that people understand they have to act fast or risk losing out.

“What’s made the houses and apartments so attractive is that Riverside mixes quality, location and character. The properties have Linden Homes’ customary attention to detail and design, and the waterside site is a really special spot for a peaceful lifestyle.

“The homes are also close to Godalming’s town centre and they have good transport links for commuters. There really is something for everyone – which explains why they’ve been selling so quickly.

“The support of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme has been a major boost for purchases too by giving people with deposits as low as five per cent the opportunity to make their home at Riverside.”

Riverside’s collection of traditional brick, wood and render homes is in a pretty location with a play park to entertain youngsters and access is open to the banks of the gentle River Wey.

For getting further afield, the A3 runs north-south and Guildford is less than 20 minutes away by car. Train commuters have a choice of two mainline stations each about a mile away, Godalming and Farncombe. both run direct into London Waterloo in about 45 minutes.

But the list of attractions doesn’t mean buyers have to break the bank. Properties worth up to £600,000 are eligible for Help to Buy, which is open equally to first-timers or those moving further up the housing ladder.

It works by the government lending 20 per cent of the value of the property through an equity loan which can be repaid at any time or on the sale of the home. It means buyers only need to come up with a 75 per cent mortgage on top of their five per cent deposit.

As an alternative to Help to Buy, current home-owners may prefer Linden Homes’ Part Exchange scheme. It offers one quick, hassle-free agreement that takes out estate agents’ fees and the problems with chains which can scupper even the most secure-looking move.
