New Food Bank Collection Point For Paignton Community Larder
12 Dec 2019

Over the festive period, Linden Homes has set up a new food bank collection point at White Rock in Paignton and is appealing to local schools, businesses and residents to get involved in its work to help collect food for Paignton Community Larder.

The housebuilder has pledged its support this season to help those in need. Local food banks collect supplies and provide emergency food and assistance to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

Non-perishable food can be donated to the White Rock sales and marketing suite until 10th January, ahead of the team hand-delivering the gifts to the food banks in the new year. The items most in need include:

  • UHT milk
  • Jam
  • Custard
  • Rice pudding
  • Tinned tomatoes
  • Jars of sauce
  • Tinned meat and fish
  • Tinned meals
  • Biscuits
  • Pot noodles
  • Flavoured rice
  • Tea and coffee
  • Toiletries

Emma Colin, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, commented: “We are proud to be providing homes and communities within which families can enjoy the festive period – however, we are also very aware some people find this time of year particularly difficult.

“There is often a drive to help charities during Christmas and so we wanted to offer some additional support afterwards as well. We also thought people may have some spare items to donate to the food bank after Christmas and the time to do so. We would like to invite local schools, residents and businesses to work with us on this project and help us to help those in need this year.”

Linden Homes is collecting for the following food banks:

  • Exeter Foodbank at Tithe Barn in Exeter
  • Teignbridge Homeless Action Today at Kings Gate in Kingsteignton and Church Walk in Newton Abbot
  • Paignton Community Larder at White Rock in Paignton
  • Totnes Connection Hub at French Furze in Blackawton
  • Plymouth Foodbank at Sherford near Plymouth
  • Northern Devon Foodbank at Montbray in Barnstaple
  • Penryn and Falmouth foodbank at The View @ Swanpool in Falmouth
