What’s close to White Rock?

At the heart of the English Riviera’s 22 mile coastline and well known for its sandy beaches, Victorian pier, first class attractions and pretty harbour, Paignton also offers a diverse range of independent shops and high street stores, and is just 2.5 miles away. With its wonderfully warm microclimate, the town’s parks and gardens offer the perfect place to relax and enjoy the palms and subtropical plants. During the summer, Paignton hosts many festivals and fairs, while all year round there are attractions to keep the whole family entertained, including a cinema, theatre, places to eat and drink, plus all the seaside attractions of this popular resort. As well as all this, Paignton Zoo is a hugely popular place to visit, and is home to more than 2,000 animals.

In contrast to the popular seaside resort of Paignton, the traditional fishing harbour of Brixham is just 4 miles from White Rock and offers a vibrant alternative for shopping and leisure. With its thriving fish market, superb seafood restaurants, lively pubs, picturebook harbour and colourful boats, it’s one of the many wonderful places to have on your doorstep.

The largest and most famous seaside resort in Devon, Torquay, is just 5 miles from White Rock. With its iconic palm trees, busy harbour and international marina, the town exudes charm and sophistication and is likened by some to a Mediterranean resort. Torquay is a great place to shop and enjoys a range of world-class restaurants, waterside eateries, pubs, bars, cafés and nightclubs. There are top shows at the Princess Theatre and a huge choice of festivals and events throughout the year. The promenade is ideal for a leisurely stroll, while a gentle climb up the steps of the Royal Terrace Gardens is rewarded with amazing sea views across the bay, especially at night.

When you want a change from town life, you’ll find plenty of picturesque villages where Devonshire cream teas and country pubs are in abundance. A number of attractions can be found, including vineyards, farms and nature and wildlife reserves. The area also offers steam railways, historic country houses and gardens, castles and heritage sites, so you’ll be spoilt for choice for idyllic family days out. And when you want to experience some of the best countryside in the county, you can visit Dartmoor National Park, which is just 12 miles from White Rock.

Local Schools & Education

There is a good choice of Ofsted rated schools close to our new property for sale in Paignton. For very young children, White Rock Pre-School (rated ‘Outstanding’) and Goodrington Pre-School are both just over a mile from home. Primary age children can attend White Rock Primary (‘Good’) or Roselands Primary (‘Outstanding’), both of which are a little under a mile away by car.

For older students, South Devon High School (and South Devon College for 16-18 year olds) is half a mile away on foot, while Paignton Community & Sports Academy (‘Good’) is 1.3 miles away.

Transport & Travel

Anyone who needs to commute will find our new property for sale in Paignton is close to good transport links. The A385 can be easily accessed for Totnes (6 miles), and for connections to the A380 (for Torquay, 7 miles and Newton Abbot, 9.6 miles). The A38, A30 and M5 can all be reached, which mean you can get to Plymouth (30 miles) and Exeter (25 miles).

For train travel, Paignton station is 2.5 miles from White Rock, and provides regular and direct services to Newton Abbot (16 minutes) and Exmouth (1 hour 40 minutes). Longer journeys can be made to Cardiff Central (via Weston-super-Mare) in 3 hours 22 minutes, and to London Paddington in 3 hours 13 minutes.

And for air travel, Exeter International airport is around 29 miles away, and provides flights around the UK and Europe.

We will instruct local estate agents to undertake an independent valuation and marketing advice for your current home before we make you a proposal on a marketing price for your home. The realistic sale price may be lower than an initial marketing price and is based on a sale within a specified timescale fixed by us. You have the final say at the price at which the property is marketed, but Smooth Move will not be available if the price at which you wish to market your current home is higher than we think is realistic or the timescale is too long. You must agree: 1. No party is currently negotiating to purchase your current home 2. No introduction has already been made by another party 3. Not to instruct another estate agent to sell your current home. You may need to leave a full set of keys and agree to access accompanied viewings for potential buyers with the appointed estate agents. You agree that Linden Homes will determine which estate agent is instructed and the terms of that appointment. It is not guaranteed that a buyer will be found for your current home or that any buyer will be willing to pay the price you want. Linden Homes may continue to market your chosen Linden home and reserves the right to take a reservation on this home until the sale of your current home to a third party is agreed and you pay the reservation fee on your chosen Linden home. In this case, if available, an alternative home may be offered, but there is no obligation on either party to proceed with Smooth Move. Any sale of your current home to a third-party buyer is at a price approved by you. A reservation fee is payable to Linden Homes for the purchase of your chosen Linden home at the agreed price, when you agree a sale on your current home. You agree only to confirm agreement of sale with a purchaser who can achieve an exchange within 35 days and who has been financially qualified to proceed with the purchase of your current home. On the simultaneous legal completion of the sale of your current home and the purchase of your new Linden home, we will pay the estate agents fees. Please note your buyer could cancel prior to legal exchange of contracts for the sale of your current home.
