Around 53 people took part in a recent public consultation event at South Devon College, where Linden Homes exhibited their early plans to redevelop land at White Rock, to the west of Brixham Road. The site was granted outline planning consent for up to 350 homes and highways access earlier in 2013 and Linden Homes is now preparing to submit an application for the matters of detail around the site’s redevelopment; this includes the position of housing and the mix of homes.
At the exhibition residents and stakeholders were invited to view and comment on the draft plans prepared by Linden Homes. Representatives from the Linden Homes development team were also on hand to answer questions.
Adam Davies, Linden Homes’ Senior Development Manager said:
“We had a good turnout and it was a great opportunity for us to meet with the residents and listen to their views. I want to thank all those who took the time to attend the exhibition and I hope that it proved informative.”
“Linden Homes really does value the feedback received. We have a strong commitment to working closely with local communities in the areas we deliver new homes, we will now review all the feedback and look to incorporate this into our evolving plans where possible and appropriate.”
The proposals from Linden Homes are for a high-quality residential element that forms part of the larger 2013 consented scheme. This outline consent includes public open space, allotments, sports provision and some commercial space.
It is expected the feedback will inform the detailed planning application submission in the autumn.
If anyone would like more information on the event or on the early proposals, they should call the project’s dedicated freephone information line on 0800 298 7040.
