Kate's Big Mission

The chance to help a major national construction company as it starts work on one of the North East’s biggest housing led regeneration initiatives is Kate Lister’s dream job.

She joins Linden Homes as sales manager just as construction commences on the £350 million Gateshead BIG initiative, as well as a other exciting and varied developments in Northumberland.

With six years experience in sales and marketing with another major national housebuilder, Kate, 29 and from Shiremoor, is relishing the challenge of raising the Linden Homes profile across the North East.

She said:  “I join just as the company’s first two sites at Haltwhistle and Howden-le-Wear are completed and work is about to start in Birtley – the first phase of the Gateshead BIG project which will deliver over 2,500 new homes.

“In addition we are redeveloping the site of our former offices in Ponteland, creating luxury apartments and we are working with Homes and Communities Agency on plans for an executive development in the grounds of the former St. George’s Hospital in Morpeth.

“What makes the challenge even more exciting is that Linden Homes is so new to the region.  We have a great opportunity to demonstrate what we are all about through these three very different schemes – and others as they come to site.”

Kate, who has a first class honours degree in business and marketing, spent some time with a special team in her last role, developing a programme of change that introduced new practices and a customer focused ethos throughout the business.

She believes the experience gained there will prove invaluable in helping Linden Homes make its mark:  “Everything is in place to enable us to become one of the best known builders in the region and I can’t wait to play my part in that,” she said.

Recently married, Kate enjoys cycling, swimming and anything to do with the beach in her spare time.
