'Contemporary Country' Inspires New Burnham House Show Home Now Open For Visitors At Froyle Park
30 Oct 2015

“Contemporary country” is the inspiration behind the new show home at Froyle Park in rural Hampshire where the luxury of the freshly refurbished Burnham House is now on display.

The more than 100-year-old red-brick building has been a landmark of Upper Froyle since 1908, and is now the handsome centrepiece of award-winning Linden Homes’ premium village-style redevelopment.

A distinguished collection of 15 three and four-bedroom two storey houses, each with their own front door and centred round a quiet, landscaped quadrangle.

The semi-detached show home is in the Merchiston style and features downstairs a laundry/store room, cloakroom and a flowing, open-plan living space connecting the living room, dining room and fully-fitted kitchen.

Upstairs a family bathroom serves bedrooms two and three. The most eye-catching feature is the dual aspect master bedroom, with en suite, walk-through dressing space and shared access with bedroom three to a study. The whole property enjoys 1,538 square feet of floorspace.

Designer Karina Sundgren, from Alexander James Interiors, explained the show home’s treatment: “The design style is ‘contemporary country’ to reflect the beautiful, rural area. We’ve used light colours with yellow as an accent colour to brighten up the design.

“Burnham House is the product of a thoughtful refurbishment, so we’ve designed the interiors with practicality in mind showing the potential of the space and to highlight the property’s charm and character.”

Burnham House was first known as Dugan House when it opened as the home of the Treloar College for Disabled Young People – established by the then Lord Mayor of London, Sir William Purdie Treloar. The college has since relocated to Holybourne.

Andrew Reynolds, sales and marketing director at Linden Homes South, said: “Burnham House is one of the jewels in the crown at Froyle Park, and a visit to the show home will demonstrate why – it’s got character, style and a sense of history.

“The Burnham House properties make for beautiful homes set in a fantastic location. The Hampshire scenery is peaceful, the transport connections convenient, and the community is warm and welcoming. Househunters should contact us soon to secure their first choice.”

Residents will enjoy Froyle Park’s village ambience, green spaces and locally-inspired architecture of the exclusive new homes ranging from three to six bedrooms. Every property has a 10-year NHBC warranty and Linden Homes’ two-year customer care warranty.

Basingstoke and Reading lie to the north of Froyle Park, with the South Downs National Park to the south. Nearby Alton train station has direct services to London Waterloo in just under an hour and 10 minutes. By car, access to the A31 is quick and simple.
