Best Regeneration Honour Awarded To Linden Homes
12 Nov 2012

Housebuilder of the Year Linden Homes is celebrating after receiving the Best Regeneration title at this year’s Housebuilder Awards.

The company’s development, Kingtson Mills in Bradford-on-Avon, took the award at the ceremony, which was held at the Tower Hotel, London on Thursday, 8 November.

Kingston Mills is a riverside development of 171 homes, both new build and conversion, together with office, retail and restaurant space. Built on derelict land formerly occupied by a tyre and rubber works factory which closed in 1992, the development is situated within a conservation area on the banks of the River Avon, opposite the medieval Town Bridge in the heart of the Wiltshire market town.

Many of the original internal features have been retained within the conversion including cast iron columns, timber trusses and exposed rubble stone. On the outside, lintels, pediments and cills have been brought back to life with careful cleaning and restoration to the stone work.

This is the latest award the development has picked up. Earlier this year, Linden Homes won Best Mixed Use Development at The Sunday Times British Homes Awards.

Greg Locke, Linden Homes divisional managing director, said: “This is fantastic recognition for our entire team and for the hard work carried out on this development.”
