Vistry Group hosted a barbecue for the residents of its new Oak Farm Meadow location in Stowupland to celebrate the start of a new community.
The ‘meet the neighbours’ event took place in August at the development, where Vistry is building 143 new properties under the Linden Homes brand.
The gathering was an opportunity for people who have moved in or reserved homes to get to know other new residents and start to make friends in the new community.
Oak Farm Meadow lies on the western edge of Stowupland and comprises 93 homes for private sale and 50 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership, alongside new public open space including a community orchard.
Commenting after the event, residents at the development spoke of the activity.
Clare and Ryan, new homeowners at Oak Farm Meadow, said: “It was so lovely to have the opportunity to meet more neighbours in such a relaxed way. The food and drinks were lovely.”
Stephen and Alison, who will also live at the development, said: “We felt it was a great idea and a very beneficial ice-breaker to meet your new neighbours. We’d be happy to take part in any future similar events for the next newcomers.”
