The MP for Colchester, Sir Bob Russell, has taken time to visit Housebuilder of the Year, Linden Homes’ Northfields development this month, and was pleased with what he found.
Looking around the collection of new homes, Sir Bob was accompanied by the managing director of Linden Homes Eastern, Mick Laws and his team, and said he was very impressed with both the variety of the houses but also with how green and spacious the development is.
During the tour, Sir Bob said Linden Homes had clearly made a conscious effort to ensure that the Northfields development was open and lush for its new community:
‘When you walk around this new neighbourhood, you get a real feel for the scale of the development here. What is particularly impressive is the amount of green space that is being planned: Linden Homes want to make this a key feature and I was happy to contribute my thoughts.”
During the tour of the site, Mick showed the Colchester MP around the Linden Homes marketing suite and the show homes – and described the different new housing types that are available to those who want to move to the area.
Sir Bob also recognised the need for larger family houses in the area and was pleased to see that Linden Homes is seeding that demand. He commented: “What we need in Colchester is more three and four bedroom affordable houses. Families need space to grow. The houses I saw being completed today are a good example that other developers could follow.”
Northfields in Colchester consists of a variety of stylish, modern 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses, all within walking distance of the train station.
