When she’s not helping customers move to their dream home in Market Harborough, sales executive Amanda Punter likes nothing more than a little flower power!
With a number of prestigious awards, medals and commendations to her credit, Amanda has enjoyed recent success and praise with her fantastic floral exhibits at this year’s RHS Malvern and RHS Chelsea Flower Shows.
Amanda – who is based at Linden Homes Midlands’ Ashton Rise development - is a trained area demonstrator for NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arranging Societies) South Midlands Area, and member of Market Harborough and Wellingborough Flower Clubs.
She said: “In my spare time I attend flower clubs all over the UK and demonstrate flower arranging and enter floral art competitions. I have previously won bronze medals individually and with my husband at RHS Malvern at their Spring Gardening Show in 2015 and 2016.
“I had always been interested in flowers and gardening, but my grandmother used to arrange flowers in the local church and loved her garden, and my memory of her was when she used to sit in her armchair when I visited with a beautiful arrangement of flowers on a stand behind her.”
She added: “I was encouraged to enter by members of our area and thought why not give it ago. Once you enter you get a schedule every year and there is always a class to whet my appetite for an arrangement.”
Amanda and her husband Michael rubbed shoulders with many celebrities at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, celebrity chefs Ainsley Harriott, Nigel Slater and James Martin; actress Joanna Lumley and property guru Kirstie Allsopp.
