...In Guildford Thanks To Local Donation
A Guildford-based school has received a donation of £500 from local housebuilder Linden Homes. Gosden House, a school for children and young people with learning disabilities, has welcomed the funds which it says will help make a difference following severe SEND funding cuts.
The school will be using the money to develop an outdoor learning environment so that the 4-6-year olds who attend can explore, engage in social play and enjoy physical exercise. By providing outdoor learning opportunities, they can learn to climb, run and ride a bike, read, write and count in a natural and stimulating environment - and develop social skills.
Cindy O'Sullivan, Head Teacher at Gosden House School, said: “In the face of severe funding cuts our school remains committed to offering pupils the best learning experiences and opportunities possible.
“For our youngest children, this means Linden Homes' kind donation has helped us towards building a rich, adventurous learning area which will help them to develop in a number of ways.”
Jo Dixon, marketing manager at Linden Homes (South) based at Guildford Business Park, said: “Every child should have access to good outdoor play equipment as it brings so many benefits. We were only too happy to help Gosden House School with this donation.”
