A housebuilder hosted a pizza and prosecco party to celebrate the beginning of a new community at a housing development in Stowupland.
Staff at Linden Homes provided the free food and drink in a ’meet the neighbours’ event in the sales office at Oak Farm Meadow.
New residents and people who have reserved homes at the development, which lies on the western edge of the Suffolk village, were invited to the gathering on Friday 12 November.
Linden Homes, which is part of the Vistry Group, is delivering a new neighbourhood of 143 homes and a large area of public open space at the site.
The developer has sold 26 of the 93 houses for private sale at Oak Farm Meadow, while there will be a further 50 homes provided as affordable housing for local people through rent or shared ownership.
Jason Colmer, sales and marketing director of Linden Homes Eastern, said: “It was a very well-attended event and about 40 people turned up to join in the fun. The idea was to get everyone together in an informal setting to relax and get together and we succeeded in doing just that.
“We have new residents who have moved into their new homes in eight of the houses at Oak Farm Meadow. We also have people who have reserved a further 18 new homes on the development and we thought it would be beneficial for all concerned if we gave everyone the opportunity to meet. It went very well and went on from 6pm until about 10.30pm.”
Jason attended the event along with Linden Homes colleagues Lorraine Farrow, sales manager, and sales consultants Nikki Miles, Georgie Workman and Buster Todd.
“The fact that so many people turned up and had a good time meeting each other just shows that a vibrant new community is being formed here at Oak Farm Meadow,” Jason said.
“We have had a high level of interest in the homes here since we launched the site. The development is popular as it features a lot of green space and is right on the edge of a village, while there’s a selection of homes which appeal to buyers at different stages of the property ladder, from first-time buyers to growing families.”
There are currently three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Oak Farm Meadow.
