MP Tours Vistry Developments At Northstowe
28 Sep 2020

Vistry East Midlands was one of the housebuilders to welcome Anthony Browne, MP for South Cambridgeshire, to the new town of Northstowe in September.

Mr Browne was visiting Northstowe to mark the fifth anniversary of construction work beginning at the site, which will ultimately include over 10,000 new homes, new schools, GP surgeries, shops and a range of community facilities.

Linden Homes and Bovis Homes, part of the newly formed Vistry Group which also includes Vistry Partnerships, invited Mr Browne to see their developments, which form part of the wider Northstowe scheme.

Linden Homes is building 271 homes at The Boulevards, off Stirling Road, comprising a range of two to five-bedroom properties.

Bovis Homes is building a mix of two to four-bedroom apartments and houses at its Bovis Homes at Northstowe development, off Station Road.

Mr Browne said: “I was delighted to be able to visit the site, and I am pleased to see the emphasis on community facilities such as Northstowe Secondary College. I shall be watching the continuing development of the High Street with great interest.

“During my visit, I highlighted the need for engagement with the new and existing communities, as well as the importance of the environmental impact – ensuring quality of life for new residents while providing homes that meet the highest standards in terms of build quality and sustainability.

“I was therefore glad to hear of the innovative affordable housing projects on the site, delivering on one of the Government’s key housing priorities. It is also encouraging to see that some of the homes will be available for people using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which has already helped local residents to achieve their aspirations of having the security and stability of owning their own homes.”

As well as meeting all the housebuilders at Northstowe, Mr Browne also toured the central square, primary school, formal park and secondary college – all community facilities which have already been delivered as part of the new town – before learning about the plans for the innovative town centre, which will focus on education, enterprise and leisure.

Charlotte Barber, Sales Manager of Vistry East Midlands, said: “It was great to welcome Anthony Browne to Northstowe and show him the progress that has been made within the new town and our developments.

“We are committed to delivering quality new housing at Northstowe, in-line with the wider vision to create a vibrant and sustainable new community, with hundreds of new homes currently under construction at both of our developments.

“Over the past five years Northstowe has already grown into a thriving new neighbourhood, and we are proud to be playing a key role in the continued development of this landmark scheme.”
