Linden Homes Saddles Up To Support Sapcote Charity To Combat Loneliness

And they’re off.... Developer Linden Homes Midlands is in the running to help a Sapcote charity continue its vital support work with older people in the community.

The house builder was among local businesses to offer sponsorship at the recent Race Night at Sapcote Club, organised to raise funds for the Community Action Partnership Leicester and Leicestershire.

Linden Homes’ £200 donation helped to pay for the hire of the films for the event, which itself raised £1,500.

Supporting the local community, the partnership runs an Older Person’s Befriending Service – aimed at developing long term personal relationships with frail, lonely, isolated or immobile people in the area.

Volunteer fundraiser, Teresa Lee accepted the cheque at Linden Homes’ The Limes development at Sapcote from sales executive Kate Sleath.

Mrs Lee said: “Blaby District’s older generations need and deserve our help and support and we would very much like to thank Linden Homes for their generous contribution.

“The Older Person’s Befriending Service takes the form of one-to-one visits by a volunteer long term befriender to the ‘client’ in their own home. Alternatively, for those who are able to go out, the service provides tailored social activities.

“The visits and social groups are often the only real social contact some older people have. We currently befriend over 140 people in Blaby district.”

Linden Homes area sales manager Bev Bray said: “We were delighted to be able to support this excellent community cause, and recognise the very important work they do locally and wish them every continued success.”

Linden Homes’ The Limes development at Hinckley Road will boast a wonderful selection of 128 carefully designed two, three and four-bedroom homes, providing plenty of housing choice for everyone from first time buyers, growing families and those looking for a smaller, more manageable property.

Many of the homes will be detached, and the development will also boast a small selection of two-bedroom bungalows – perfect for potential downsizers.

Sapcote enjoys the best of both worlds – offering a village lifestyle while being just four miles from Hinckley and 12 miles from Leicester.

The show homes and sales and marketing suite are open daily from 10.30am until 5pm. Alternatively, contact the sales team on 08444 880096.
