A property dubbed ‘the smallest house in the world’ has gone on sale in London. The home – which is 188 square foot and has a bedroom that is little more than a hanging platform – is in Barnsbury in North London. The crucial selling point for this home is that it is close to the bars, boutiques and restaurants of Islington.
Conversely, while some people are happy to downsize to be close to the city action, research from estate agents Chesterton Humberts shows that 2014 has been a year of migration from the heart of the city (areas that include Kensington and Chelsea) out into the more leafy ‘villages’ – so areas like Chiswick, Putney, Barnes and Kew, Battersea and Fulham.
These residents in this case are looking for more room. Not less. But they don’t want to move out of London, so they are being drawn, according to the research, towards areas offering more space, gardens and that rare London commodity: private parking.
If you’re currently living in central London and paying a premium for a ‘conveniently’ located tiny home, you might be very interested in having a look at Linden Homes’ Corner Haus, in Chiswick. It is a selection of modern, spacious and elegant two and three bedroom apartments in close proximity to Chiswick’s bars, shops and restaurants and has its own underground parking.
The show apartment at The Corner Haus has just been launched – so you can go and see these homes for yourself.
The three bedroom show apartment demonstrates how to live in London in comfort and contemporary style, with fully fitted kitchen and bathrooms, integrated appliances and space.
Simon Pendlebury, sales and marketing director said: “Our new show apartment will give visitors a real sense of what living like here, could be like. Those who have already bought here have commented about the excellent location and convenience for commuting into central London and out on the M4 to further afield destinations. It really is the perfect base to suit a multitude of buyers, so we encourage property hunters to visit soon to avoid disappointment.”
So why cram yourself into a poky central London flat? Have a look at The Corner Haus on the Linden Homes’ website, or call 0844 488 1041 for more information or to arrange to see the show apartment.
